ALAMO - Catalina Garcia, 87, died Wednesday, March 31, 2010 in Mission.
Born in Mercedes, Mrs. Garcia had lived in Alamo most of her life.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Manuel Garcia; a son, Efrain Garcia; a daughter, Noemi Tovar; and her parents, Gumercindo and Pilar Perez.
Mrs. Garcia is survived by eight children, Eliseo (Luz) Garcia of Pharr, Ruben Garcia, Noe (Leonor) Garcia, both of Donna, Isaias (Minerva) Garcia of Austin, Texas, Manuel (Carmelita) Garcia, Ofelia Garcia, both of Mission, Elizabeth (Romeo) Reyna of Alamo and Joel (Rosa) Garcia of McAllen; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Ofelia Olivarez of Valle Hermoso, Tamps., Mexico and Raquel Perez of Brownsville.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service, today, April 2, 2010 at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will be at 9 a.m., Saturday, April 3, 2010 at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
