CONCEPCION A. GARCIA SAN JUAN – Concepcion A. Garcia, 100, died Sunday, December 2, 2012, at Rio Grande Regional Hospital in McAllen. Born in La Grulla, Mrs. Garcia had lived in San Juan since 1918. She is preceded in death by her husband, Nicolas Garcia; and a son, Humberto A. Garcia. Mrs. Garcia is survived by four children, Carolina Garcia, of San Juan, Rene A. (Hortencia) Garcia, of McAllen, Alicia G. (Gilbert) Ramos, of Pharr, Rogelio (Hortencia) Garcia, of Alamo; a daughter-in-law, Dinah D. Garcia, of Brownsville; 16 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and 20 great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 6 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. prayer service today, December 3, 2012, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, December 4, 2012, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Pastor Rev. Roy Garcia. Interment will follow at San Juan Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Rick Ramos, Roy Garcia Jr., Jacob Garcia, Bobby Garcia, Benjamin Garcia and Andrew Garza. Honorary pallbearers will be Rene Garcia, Roy Garcia and Xavier Ramos. The family wishes to thank the staff of Las Palmas Healthcare Center for the care given to Mrs. Garcia. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
