EDINBURG - Dubelsa G. Garcia entered eternal rest at the age of 97 years on December 18, 2011 surrounded by her family.
She was born December 25, 1913 to Lauro and Calixta Gonzalez in Agualeguas, Mexico. She was raised in Runge, Texas before moving to Edinburg in 1942.
Dubelsa was a strong-willed and beautiful human being, wife, mother, mother-in-law, sister-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Aguedo Garcia; a grandson, Rene Requenez; and a great-granddaughter, Lizza Castillo.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Minerva († Ponce) Ledesma, Ruben (Gloria) Garcia, Lydia (Alfredo) Salinas, Irma (Robert) Cordonier and Raquel (Hermilo) Requenez.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. Holy Rosary today, December 20, 2011, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 East Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 21, 2011, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens in McAllen.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Raul Jr. and David De La Rosa, Alfredo Jr. and Xavier Salinas, Ruben Garcia Jr. and John A. Rodriguez. Honorary pallbearer will be Hector Requenez.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
