PHARR - Elyssa Marie Garcia, 23, along with her infant son, Jabari D. Garcia, died Friday, April 22, 2011, in Los Fresnos.
She was born in McAllen and had lived in Pharr most of her life.
She is survived by her mother, Emma (Guillermo) Martinez, of Palmview; her father, David Lee (Esmeralda) Garcia, of Pharr; two sisters, Jennifer Martinez, of Palmview, Brenda Lee Garcia, of Pharr; seven brothers, David Lee Garcia Jr., Joe Guadalupe Garcia, Andy Lee Garcia, Mark Anthony Garcia, Joe Angel Garcia, Alexander David Garcia, all of Pharr, Guillermo Martinez Jr., of Palmview; and her maternal grandparents, Ciro and Aurora Moya, of Pharr.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary today, April 27, 2011, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 28, 2011, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment of cremated remains will be at 10 a.m. Friday, April 29, 2011, at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
