GILBERTO GARCIA, JR.
SAN JUAN - Gilberto Garcia, Jr., 78, died Sunday, September 19, 2010 at his residence in San Juan.
Born in McAllen, Mr. Garcia had lived in San Juan most of his life and was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish in San Juan.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Gilberto and Aurora Garcia.
Mr. Garcia is survived by his wife, Consuelo Garcia of San Juan; two daughters, Sandra Garcia of Pharr, Sonia Garcia of Weslaco; three sons, Gilbert Garcia III, Gerald Garcia, both of Houston, Texas, Richard Garcia of San Juan; 13 grandchildren; a brother, Carlos (Iselda) Garcia of Mission; a sister, Estela Salazar of McAllen; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 pm, with a 7 pm rosary today, September 22, 2010 at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will be at 10 am, Thursday, September 23, 2010 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish in San Juan. Interment will follow at San Juan Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Gilbert Garcia III, Gerald Garcia, Richard Garcia, Charlie Garcia, Mark Hernandez and Juan Maldonado.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
