JOSE M. GARCIA, JR. SAN JUAN – Jose M. Garcia Jr., 61, died Thursday, October 9, 2014, at McAllen Medical Center. Born in San Juan, Mr. Garcia was formerly of Alamo and Pharr. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jose Maria Garcia and Maria Soto Garcia; a brother, Carlos Garcia; and two sisters, Carla Garcia and Elena Garcia. Mr. Garcia is survived by his wife, Gloria Muniz Garcia, of San Juan; four children, Claudia (Robert) Martinez, Christopher (Jessie Marie) Garcia, both of Edinburg, Monica Garcia, of Pharr, Cassandra (Daniel Eluid Leal) Garcia, of San Juan; eight grandchildren, Robert Martinez Jr., Nicolas Martinez, Darren Pedroza, Trey Pedroza, Troy Pedroza, Christopher Garcia Jr., Urijah Garcia, Joaquin Daniel Leal; and eight siblings, Felipe Garcia, Lydia Ramos, both of San Juan, Javier Garcia, Jose Luis Garcia, Eva Martinez, all of Alamo, Janie Garcia, of Buda, Mildred Garcia and Veronica Garcia, both of Edinburg. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Friday, October 10, 2014, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 East Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 1 p.m. Saturday, October 11, 2014, at Resurrection Catholic Church in Alamo. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
