MARIA DALIA GARCIA MCALLEN — Maria Dalia Garcia, 74, entered eternal rest Friday, November 6, 2015, at LifeCare Hospital in McAllen. Dalia is preceded in death by her parents, Francisco and Victoria Rivera; two brothers, Frank Rivera, and Hector Rivera. Born on June 29, 1941 in Mission, TX, Dalia had lived in McAllen most of her life. Dalia was a loving mother and had an unwavering love for her family. She loved good food, music, dancing and worked for HEB for 40 years and retired at the age of 55. Dalia is survived by her daughter Mellie Garcia of McAllen; two sisters Rosario (Ramon) De Leon of McAllen and Cindi Rivera of Lewisville, TX. Mrs. Garcia leaves behind friends and caretakers who helped her through her journey through life. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Monday, November 9, 2015, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service celebrating her life will be held at 10 a.m. the following day Tuesday, November 10, 2015, at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in McAllen. Interment will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens in McAllen. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home of San Juan.
