SARA C. GARCIA EDINBURG - Sara C. Garcia, 89, died, Sunday, January 5, 2014, at Arbor View Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Edinburg. Mrs. Garcia was born in Woodsboro, Texas and lived in Edinburg most of her life. She is preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Alejo V. Garcia; and numerous brothers and sisters. Sara is survived by five children, Alejo (Ron Wiltse) Garcia of Alemeda, CA, Nelda (Marcelino) Olivarez of Edinburg, Ricardo "Richard" Garcia of Mission, Jorge (Theresa) Garcia, and Alma Gloria (Art) Garcia, both of Edinburg; 20 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. prayer service, today, January 7, 2014, at El Buen Pastor United Methodist Church, 705 E. University Dr. in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 2 p.m., Wednesday, January 8, 2014, at EL Buen Pastor United Methodist Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Guadalupe El Torero Cemetery in Puerto Rico, Texas. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
