Antonio Manuel "Tony" Garcia Sr.

April 25, 1933 — February 23, 2021

EDINBURG - Antonio Manuel "Tony" Garcia Sr., 87, entered eternal rest Tuesday, February 23, 2021, at his residence after battling various underlying conditions.
Tony was born on April 25, 1933, in Tacubaya, Texas to the late Guadalupe (Luna) and Antonio Manuel Garcia. He served in the US Army as a paratrooper, June 3, 1953, through May 9, 1955. He was a devoted skilled welder, at Cactus Iron Works for over 30 years. His love for the outdoors was astounding. He enjoyed deer hunting with his three sons and spending time at the ranch where he raised chickens, pigs, and cared for his horse. Tony loved watching his favorite team, The Dallas Cowboys, but most of all, he loved spending time with his family and always looked forward to their casino trips. He then retired to enjoy his time at home with his "sidekick," grandma. One of his greatest pleasures was spending time with his grandchildren and creating memories to last a lifetime. Tony will be greatly missed.
He is preceded in death by his son, Antonio Manuel Garcia Jr.; his parents; six siblings, Maria Martha Molina, Arnoldo, Lauro "Chore", Odon, Alonzo, and Humberto Garcia; and his nephew who was like a brother, Hector Molina.
Tony is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Maria Luisa (Trejo) Garcia; six children, Eva Alicia (Rick) Huerta, Maribel (Mike) Saenz, Imelda Sanchez, Rosa Maria Mendoza, Alberto Luis (Jackie), and Omar (Adela) Garcia; 16 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a nephew and nieces who grew up with him, Omar, Linda, and Sally Molina; and other family members.
