ZENAIDO SALINAS GARCIA EDINBURG - Zenaido Salinas Garcia, 86, died Tuesday, March 10, 2015, at Pax Villa Hospice and Palliative Care in McAllen. Born in El Barrio Los Aldamas, Mexico, Mr. Salinas had lived in Edinburg most of his life. He enjoyed gardening and seeing new life of the Earth. He is preceded in death by his wife, Elva Salinas; two granddaughters, Jeanette Salinas, Janessa Yvette Gonzalez; his parents, Florencio Salinas and Santos Salinas Garcia; and three brothers, Raul Salinas, Florentino Salinas, and Glafiro Salinas. Zenaido is survived by six children, Jorge Luis (Diana) Salinas of Edinburg, Glafiro (Margarita) Salinas of California, Mario Alberto (Jessica) Salinas of Edinburg, Jaime Alberto Hinojosa of McAllen, Myrtha Elena (Jorge) Alvarado of California, Aida Maribel Salinas of McAllen; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and two brothers, Enrique Salinas of Rio Grande City and Hector Salinas of Mexico. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Monday, March 16, 2015, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 17, 2015, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
