BALDEMAR GARZA PHARR – Baldemar Garza, 82, passed away Tuesday, October 15, 2013, at Las Palmas Healthcare Center in McAllen. Born in Robstown, Texas, Mr. Garza lived in Pharr most of his life. He was also an active member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Pharr. Baldemar was married to Antonia in 1954 in Hughes, Arkansas. They were happily married for 59 years. He had a passion for playing golf. Baldemar was dedicated to his family and was the most wonderful father and husband. Baldemar is preceded in death by his parents, Pedro and Elida Garza; one sister, Emma Cabello. He is survived by his wife, Antonia Garza of Pharr; three children, Yolanda (Mike) Morales of McAllen, Sylvia (Kenneth) Carvajal of Pharr, and Jose B. (Zelma) Garza of Palmhurst; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three brothers, George Gacia, Oscar Buenrostro, and Humberto Buenrostro; four sisters, Dora Garza, Marta Partida, Maria Exinia, and Olivia Buenrostro. The family would like to thank, Dr. Max Hernandez, doctors and staff, and Las Palmas Healthcare Center for the dedicated services provided. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary, today October 17, 2013, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 12 p.m., Friday, October 18, 2013 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Pharr. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr. Funeral Services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
