GERARDO “JERRY” GARZA
EDINBURG – Gerardo “Jerry” Garza, 63, entered eternal rest Monday, March 2, 2009, at LifeCare Hospital in McAllen.
Mr. Garza was born in Edinburg and had lived there most of his life. He was employed by Hidalgo County Adult Probation Department for 23 years until his retirement in 2001.
Dad was a loving, generous and compassionate man who loved family and friends unconditionally. He will always be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor and the joy it brought to everyone around him.
He is preceded in death by an infant daughter, Celina Garza; his parents, Arturo and Leocarita Garza; and a sister, Imelda Gomez.
Mr. Garza is survived by his wife, Norma Anzaldua; two daughters, Miranda Alissa Garza, Alanah Bianca Garza, all of Edinburg; two brothers, Frank (Hilda) Garza, of Edinburg, Arturo (Gloria) Garza Jr., of San Antonio; three sisters, Rosa Irma Garza, Margaret (Efrain) Rodriguez, Veronica Herrera, all of Edinburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will take place from 5 to 9 pm, with a 7 pm rosary today, March 4, 2009, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton, in Edinburg. Funeral service will be at 9 am Thursday, March 5, 2009, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens in McAllen. His family members will serve as pallbearers.
The family would like to thank the staff of LifeCare Hospital, Dr. Nurul A. Wahid, and the staff of DSI Dialysis Clinic for the care given to Mr. Garza.
Dad, we will never be able to thank you enough for all of the love and support you always gave us. We will carry you with us always and miss you every day. We love you! Mandy and Alanah
