GREGORIO GARZA, III
SAN JUAN —Gregorio Garza, III, 61, died Saturday, April 23, 2011, at his residence in San Juan.
Born in Valle Hermoso, Tamps., Mexico, Mr. Garza was formerly of Rio Grande City and had lived in San Juan since 1975. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish in San Juan. Mr. Garza was a veteran of the United States Air Force, a member of USAF Secret Service; a graduate of Pan American University with a double major in child psychology and education.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Gregorio Garza Vera and Bertha Castro de Garza; a sister, Bertha Garza.
Mr. Garza is survived by his wife, Maria De Jesus Garza, of San Juan; two children, Erika Garza (Sergio) Salinas, of San Juan, Gregorio David (Dominique Caro) Garza, IV, of Edinburg; three grandchildren, Gregorio David Garza V, Faith Maree Salinas, and Isabella Elise Garza; three sisters, Alma (Francisco) De Leon, of North Carolina, Irma Cano, of Fort Worth, Texas and Braulia (Ricardo) Bazan, of Garciasville.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary today, April 26, 2011, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in San Juan. Funeral service will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 27, 2011, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish in San Juan. Interment will follow at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission. Military honors will be conducted by American Legion Post 93 of Mission.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
