Jose "Joe" Garza

JOSE “JOE” GARZA PHARR – Jose “Joe” Garza, 90, died Monday, June 25, 2012, at McAllen Medical Center. Born in Mission, Texas, Mr. Garza lived in Pharr most of his life. He was a Veteran of U.S. Navy, serving during World War II. He is preceded in death by a son, Javier L. Garza. Mr. Garza is survived by his wife, Aurora J. Garza, of Pharr; three children, Rolando (Sally) Garza, Velma Denise (Joel) Flores both of Pharr; Melissa A. Vela of Edinburg; son-in-law Cris Vela of Pharr; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 3 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary today, June 27, 2012, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 28, 2012, at St. Jude’s Catholic Church in Pharr. Interment will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens in McAllen. Military honors will be conducted by VFW Post 8788. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
