DELMITA/MCALLEN – Julia T. Garza, 72, died Wednesday, July 29, 2009, at Doctors Hospital at Renaissance in Edinburg.
Born in Santa Rita Ranch, Texas, Mrs. Garza was formerly of Delmita, Texas and had lived in McAllen for the past 3 years.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Lino and Julia Trevino; two sisters, Elia Pena and Esther Rivas.
Mrs. Garza is survived by her husband, Santago Garza Jr. of 52 years of Delmita; four children, Leonzo Garza of Rio Grande City, Gloria Esparza and Dolly Garza both of McAllen and Nidia Garza of Edinburg; five grandchildren, Ricardo Esparza III, Derek Esparza, Ashley Esparza, Leonzo Garza Jr. and Jose Ricardo Garza; one great grandson, Derek Esparza Jr.; one brother, Juan Diego Trevino of Edinburg; four sisters, Guadalupe Guerra of Corpus Christi, Texas; Maria Elena Valeton of San Jose, California, Angie Vasquez of Edinburg and Bertha Estevis of San Juan; one brother-in-law, Luis Lopez of San Isidro; one sister-in-law, Francisca Cisneros of Refugio, Texas and an aunt, Maria Encarnacion Lopez of Delmita.
Visitation will be held from 11a.m. to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary today, July 31, 2009, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will be at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, August 1, 2009, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Mission. Interment will follow at Julia C. Trevino Cemetery in Puerto Rico, Texas.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
