JULIA GARZA
LA GLORIA – Julia Garza, 82, died Friday, April 24, 2009, at LifeCare Hospital in McAllen.
She was born March 16, 1927 to Julio and Teodora Garcia in Santa Gertrudis, Tamaulipas, Mexico and lived in Margo Ranch and La Gloria most of her life.
Julia was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who loved everyone she knew. She loved God and our Blessed Mother Mary and was a member of San Isidro Catholic Church. She was a servant to all around the San Isidro area. Julia raised her children to love our Lord Jesus Christ; she instilled great values and morals to all her children and taught us all to love and respect everyone. Julia loved and enjoyed every moment with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by three brothers, Elijio Garcia, Santos Garcia and Julio Garcia.
Julia is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Daniel S. Garza, of La Gloria; a daughter, Noemi Elia (Cipriano) Gallardo, of McAllen; two sons, Daniel “Danny” (Aurora) Garza, Jr., of Sharyland and Rolando (Marissa) Garza, of San Isidro; six grandchildren, Daniel P. Garza III, Monica D. Goodloe, Carlos Gallardo, Amanda Gallardo, Rolando D. Garza and Anikka Garza; two great-grandchildren, Viktoria M. Garza and William Ray Goodloe IV; and three sisters, Victoriana Olivarez, Candelaria Ayala and Maria de la Paz Guerrero, all of Rio Grande City.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 9 pm, with a 7 pm rosary today, April 26, 2009, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will be at 2 pm Monday, April 27, 2009, at San Isidro Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Hilario Alvarado Cemetery in San Isidro.
