LAURA C. GARZA SAN JUAN - Laura C. Garza, 65, entered eternal rest on Thursday, January 23, 2014, at her residence I in surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 22, 1948 in McAllen, to the late Juan G. Salinas and Alicia Garza Salinas. She is preceded in death by her father, Juan G. Salinas; and grandparents, Josefa and Alberto Garza Left to cherish her memory is her mother, Alicia G. Salinas, of San Juan, two daughters Erika (Michael) Salinas, Selina Garza, both of Alamo; four grandchildren which were her pride and joy, Serena, Jackie, Michael, Jr. , and Madeleine, all of Alamo; a brother, John (Cheri) Salinas, a sister Liz (Mario) Jordan, both of Houston, TX; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. As per her wishes, her remains will be cremated. The family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Palimar and Dr. Olivares, V.I.P Home Health, Beyamar Hospice, the staff of Garza’s Café, Brenda Rios and Diana Zuniga, for their dedicated attention in her last days. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. today, January 25, 2014, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish in San Juan. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
