LYDIA CARRIZALES GARZA
SAN MARCOS/EDINBURG - Lydia Carrizales Garza, 56, passed away Thursday, July 1, 2010, at her residence in San Marcos, after a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Garza was born March 21, 1954 in Edinburg and graduated from Edinburg High School in 1973. She enjoyed a long, successful career in banking and accounting with First City Bank, Frost Bank, Texas Building and Procurement Commission, and the Secretary of State of Texas. Her many interests included spending time with her close-knit family, friends, cats, and her best friend, her loving husband. And of course, Las Vegas was always special, and near and dear to her heart, too.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Narcisa Mares Carrizales; and a brother, Gustavo Carrizales.
Mrs. Garza is survived by her husband, Rolando Garza, of San Marcos; brothers Magin and Gilbert Carrizales and sisters Angie Carrizales and Tina C. Sapp, all of San Manuel, Modesta Garcia, of Centerville and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 pm, with a 7 pm rosary Monday, July 5, 2010, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will be at 10 am Tuesday, July 6, 2010, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at El Cibolo Cemetery in Edinburg.
