MARIA R. GARZA EDINBURG - Maria R. Garza, 85, died Saturday, February 16, 2013, at her residence in Edinburg. Born in Mission, Mrs. Garza had lived in Edinburg most of her life. She is preceded in death by her husband, Alejandro L. Garza; parents, Martin and Eulalia Rivera; four brothers; two sisters. Mrs. Garza is survived by her four children, Alejandro (Lupita) Garza Jr. of Walnut, CA, Diana (Ramiro) Cortez of Laguna Vista, Tx, Dr. Maribelle Garza of Harlingen, Tx and Marisa (Rolando) Garza of San Isidro, Tx; six grandchildren, Gabriel, Rafael, Rolando David, Anikka Marie, Aaron and Emmanuel; two siblings, Elida Rivera and Bernarda Vargas both of Mission. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary today, February 18, 2013 at Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens in McAllen. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
