NOE GERALD GARZA EDINBURG – Noe Gerald Garza, 68, died Tuesday, December 30, 2014, at McAllen Medical Center. Born in Oldham, England, Noe grew up in Los Saenz and lived in Edinburg since 1981. He spent the last 15 years of his life residing at the Red Penny Ranch in Red Gate. Noe was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during Vietnam, and a 1968 graduate of Texas A&M University in College Station. He was employed by NRCS for over 30 years until his retirement in 2000. He is preceded in death by his parents, Noe and Gladys Garza; and a sister, Norma Garcia. Mr. Garza is survived by his wife, Esperanza Garza, of Edinburg; three children, Melissa (Mark) Shields, of Mesquite, TX, Alexandra (John Paul) Perez, of Mission, Carlos (Azucena) Garza, of Edinburg; three step children, Jose Ernesto Margo Jr., Eduardo Margo, both of Weslaco, Elizabeth Margo (Luis) Gutierrez, of San Antonio; 12 grandchildren; four siblings, Raymond Garza, Roland Garza, Robert Garza and Linda Lee Garza. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary today, January 1, 2015, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 East Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 1 p.m. Friday, January 2, 2015, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Mission. Interment will follow at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission. Military honors will be conducted by VFW Post 8788 of McAllen. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Aurora House, P.O. Box 976, Weslaco, TX 78599. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
