PEDRO GARZA
EDINBURG – Pedro Garza, 92, died Friday, January 29, 2010, at his residence in Edinburg.
Mr. Garza was born in La Palmita, Nuevo Leon, Mexico and had lived in Edinburg since 1943. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg.
He is preceded in death by a son, Noe Garza; two grandchildren, Leana De Leon and Leann De Leon; his parents, Serapio and Modesta Garza; seven brothers; and two sisters.
Mr. Garza is survived by his wife, Martina Garza, of Edinburg; seven children, Modesta (Noe) Ramos, Maria Teresa Salinas, Ofelia (Alberto) Ramos, Pedro (Estela) Garza Jr., Esmeralda (Gregorio) Garcia, Linda (Alfredo) Guerrero, Irma (Jesus) Alvarado, all of Edinburg; 22 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a brother, Sixto Garza,of Edinburg; and a sister, Paula Flores, of Silverton, Oregon.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 pm, with a 7 pm rosary Monday, February 1, 2010, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 East Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will be at 10 am Tuesday, February 2, 2010, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg. Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Noe Ramos Jr., Rogelio Salinas, Alberto Ramos Jr., Pedro Garza III, Greg Garcia Jr., and Manuel De Leon Jr. Honorary pallbearer will be Jesus Alvarado Jr.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
