ROBERTO GARZA SAN JUAN – Roberto Garza, 69, completed his journey on earth and surrounded by his loving family he joyfully went home to the Lord on Friday, September 12, 2014, at Rio Grande Regional Hospital in McAllen. Born in Santa Rosa, he had lived in Pharr most of life and in San Juan since 1995. He is preceded in death by his parents, Candelario and Juanita Garza; two brothers, Margarito and Alejandro Garza; and a sister, Celia Ramirez. Mr. Garza is survived by his wife, Isabel Gomez Garza of San Juan; six children, Maricela Garza of Weslaco, Robert Anthony Garza of Missouri City, TX, Mary Lillian Garza Aguilar, Mark David Garza, both of McAllen, Clarissa Garza, and Mateo Fabian Garza, both of San Juan; 15 grandchildren; and seven siblings, Santos Garza, Erasmo Garza, Oscar Garza, Ana Garza, all of Santa Rosa, Juan Garza of Combes, Luis Garza of Harlingen, and Jose Angel Garza of San Antonio, TX. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Sunday, September 14, 2014, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 1 p.m. Monday, September 15, 2014, at St. Jude’s Catholic Church in Pharr. Interment will follow at Santo Nombre Cemetery in Santa Rosa. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
