SAN JUAN - Sofia C. Garza, 90, died Thursday, September 7, 2017, at her residence in San Juan.
Born in Alamo, TX. Mrs. Garza had lived in San Juan all of her life and was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Rufino Garza, Sr.; two brothers, Manuel Cano, Amado Cano; two sisters, Carolina Munoz and Belen Perez.
Sofia is survived by four children, Rufino (Alicia) Garza Jr. of San Juan, Nelda (Jaime) Garcia of Mission, Hilda (James) Williams of Frisco, Juan (Diana) Garza of San Antonio; six grandchildren, Yvette Aleman, Kerri Coduti, Jaime Garcia, Jr., Caleb Garza, Darya Garza, Lauryn Garza; five great-grandchildren, Alejandro Aleman, Cassandra Aleman, Imagen Ordaz, Brayden Coduti, and Kylie Coduti.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Friday, September 8, 2017, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 9, 2017, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
