Benito H. Garza, Sr., 89, entered eternal rest on Thursday, May 12, 2022.
Mr. Garza was a lifelong resident of Pharr and was formerly employed by Hidalgo County Precinct 2.
He is preceded in death by a son, Rodolfo "Rudy" Garza; his parents, Tirso and Guadalupe Garza; and five siblings. Benito is survived by his wife of 64 years, Francisca Garza; four children, Benito H. Garza Jr. of Hammond, IN, Ricardo Garza of Houston, Cynthia (Javier) Martinez of Mission, Sandra (Frank) Ramblas; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ramiro Garza of Chicago, IL, Jose Garza of Pharr; and three sisters, Elva Mora, Maria Adelina Casasola, both of Pharr, Lydia Vasquez of San Juan.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., with a 6 p.m. rosary Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at St. Francis Xavier Cabrini Catholic Church in Pharr. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
