ALAMO – Genoveva Gonzalez, 84, passed away Sunday, September 1, 2024, at Solara Hospital in Harlingen.She is preceded in death by her son, Jesus Omar Gonzalez; parents, Jose and Paulina Barrera; and a sister, Amalia Martinez. Mrs. Gonzalez is survived by her husband, Ambrosio C. Gonzalez of Alamo; eight children, Eva Idalia Arellano of Donna, Jose (Maria) Gonzalez and Isidro (Daniela) Gonzalez both of Tamaulipas, Mexico, Carolina (Fernando) Garcia of Corpus Christi, Raquel Gonzalez and Fernando (Ana) Gonzalez both of Weslaco, Christina G. Barrera of Houston, and Claudia (Juan) Gonzalez of Mercedes; 33 grandchildren; and her ten great-grandchildren.Visitation will be held at 5 p.m. with a 6 p.m. rosary, Thursday, September 5, 2024, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m., Friday, September 6, 2024, at San Martin de Porres Catholic Church in Weslaco. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park in Weslaco.
