Jeffery Gold

JEFFERY GOLD PHARR — Jeffery Gold, 58, died Friday, April 3, 2015, at his residence in Pharr. Jeffery loved to read, especially books by Stephen King and John Grisham. He inherited the love of cooking from his mother, Margie, and would cook fried chicken and lasagna for his family at any time. Jeffery enjoyed taking his children to the movies and swimming in the creek behind their home. His biggest lesson in life was patience, which he learned from his father who was an officer in the United States Army Corps of Engineers. He is preceded in death by his father, Major Clarence B. Gold, Jr.; and two brothers, Michael Gold and Patrick Gold. Jeffery is survived by his wife, Ana Rodriguez, of Pharr; four children, Jason (Nguyet) Gold, of North Carolina, Cynthia (Mark) Travis, of Las Vegas, Pamela (Wilson) Barry, Stephanie Gold, both of Tennessee; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; his mother, Margie Gold; and three brothers, Clarence B. Gold III, Marion Gold, Jack (Karen) Gold; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will take place at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 8, 2015, at La Trinidad United Methodist Church, 101 E. Warren in Pharr. The family would like to thank the following: Drs. Fredricka Borland, Alvaro Restrepo, Alberto Pena and Yuri Bermudez; and thank you to the staff at Compassionate Hospice and Calidad Home Health. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
