ALBESA "BECHA" V. GOMEZ McALLEN/ALAMO- Albesa "Becha" V. Gomez, 82, passed away on September 9, 2013 in McAllen, Texas. She was born Decemeber 28, 1930 to Macario and Inez Villarreal in Alamo, Texas. Mrs. Gomez was a current member of Better Homes Club, The Catholic Daughters and the Paco Ladies; and a former member of Aggie Mother’s Club and a Cub Scout’s Den Mother. She is preceded in death by her husband, Serafin Gomez Garza; a grandson, Luis Alberto Gomez; her parents; and two brothers, Robert and Rene Villarreal. Left to cherish her memory are her six children, Serafin (Sylvia) Gomez III, of Reynosa, Luis Carlos (Pat) Gomez, Armando (Doreen) Gomez, Norma A. Gomez, all of McAllen, Hector Raul (Pam) Gomez, of Chihuahua, and Maria (Trainor) Gomez-White, of Houston; nine grandchildren, Adam Daniel (Jennifer), Michael Jared, Carlos Aron, Bianca Patricia, Serafin IV, Mauricio, Krista Dion (Michael), Sylvia Lourdes and Maddux Trainor; a great-granddaughter, Alice Fay; a brother, Rodolfo Villarreal, of Alamo; and two sisters, Amalia Villarreal, of Pharr and Alicia Rodriguez, of Kress, Texas. Visitation will be held from 3 to 9p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary today, September 11, 2013, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Thursday, September 12, 2013, at Resurrection Catholic Church in Alamo. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Alamo. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
