ARNULFO G. GOMEZ
PHARR - Arnulfo G. Gomez, 74, died Sunday, May 17, 2009 at McAllen Heart Hospital.
Born in McAllen, and formerly of Othello, Washington, Mr. Gomez had lived in Pharr for the past 5 years and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ernesto and Manuela Gomez; and two brothers, Arturo Gomez and Alfredo Gomez.
Mr. Gomez is survived by his wife, Maria C. Gomez; ten children, Arnulfo Gomez, Jr., Armando (Elvira) Gomez, Alfredo (Louise) Gomez, Rosa (Martin) De La Rosa, Manuela Gomez, Ivan (Elizabeth) Gomez, Jeanette Garcia, Arnold (Maricruz) Gomez, Ernest (Claudia) Gomez and Brenda Lee (Miguel) Alcala; 32 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; five brothers, Raul Gomez, Augustin Gomez, Ruben Gomez, Israel Gomez, Ernesto Gomez, Jr.; and four sisters, Guadalupe Soto, Amalia Martinez, Aurora Garcia and Nina Uresti.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 pm, with a 7 pm rosary, today, May 20, 2009 at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will be at 2 pm, Thursday, May 21, 2009 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens in McAllen.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
