Bertha Gomez

MCALLEN – Bertha Gomez, 83, died Sunday, September 11, 2016, at Briarcliff Nursing Home in McAllen.
Born in San Juan, Bertha lived in San Juan most of her life.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Estela and Mariano Garza.
Bertha is survived by her husband of 59 years, Ciro Gomez; four sons, Arturo (Gloria) Gomez, Fernando (Cindy) Gomez both of McAllen, Ciro (Alma) Gomez of Weslaco, Homer (Linda) Gomez of McCook; eight grandchildren; seven siblings, Rosario Kirby of Donna, Juanita (Julian) Lopez, Mariano Garza both of San Juan, Estela Gomez of McAllen, Charlie Garza of San Antonio, Chris (Toby) Espinoza of Pharr, Mario (Corina) Garza of Detroit, MI.; numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Wednesday, September 14, 2016, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish in San Juan. Interment will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens in McAllen.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home of San Juan.
