EDWARD GOMEZ EDINBURG - Edward Gomez, 31, died Sunday, January 27, 2013, in Edinburg. Edward was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Benito and Virginia Zuniga; paternal grandfather, Pablo Gomez. He is survived by his wife, Rosalva Guzman Gomez; two sons, Ethan Daniel Gomez, Edward Gomez, Jr.; step daughter, Jazlynn Nicole Flores; father, Pedro Gomez; mother, Maria Elena Gomez; three sisters, Chris Zuniga, Elizabeth Gomez, and Diana Lee Gomez; two brothers, James Gomez, all of Edinburg, Pedro Gomez Jr. of Dallas; paternal grandmother, Amparo Gomez, and best friend, Fidel Abrego, both of Edinburg. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. prayer service Wednesday, January 30, 2013, at Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, January 31, 2013, at Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
