ELISA H. GOMEZ PHARR — Elisa H. Gomez, 79, died Friday, May 1, 2015, at Edinburg Regional Medical Center. Born in Mexico City, she had lived in Pharr all of her life and was a member of Templo Bethel. She is preceded in death by her husband, Martin Gomez; a son, Miguel Hernandez; her parents, Refugio and Ana Maria Hernandez; and a brother, Martin Hernandez. Ms. Gomez is survived by three children, Ana Maria (Alvaro) Navarro, Leticia (Joe) Leal, both of Alamo, Elizabeth (Joe) Lopez, of San Juan; six grandchildren, Rick (Sammantha) Navarro, Mike (Jenn) Lopez, Erica (Ram) Ledesma, Yvonne (Armando Garza) Lopez, Joey Leal, Jimmy Leal; five great-grandchildren, Makayla Lopez, A.J. Garza, Branndon Perez, Aubrey Garza, Olivia Ledesma; ten siblings, Eusebio (Isabel) Hernandez, Paula (†Gustavo) Martinez, Enrique (Tany) Hernandez, Carlota (Remigio) Mancias, Maria (Roberto) Salinas, Micaela (Juan Homero) Ramos, Manuel (Luz) Hernandez, Guadalupe (Hilda) Hernandez, Francisco (Aurelia) Hernandez and Jose (Esperanza) Hernandez; a sister-in-law, Esther Hernandez; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. prayer service Monday, May 4, 2015, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 5, 2015, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
