Abigail Gonzalez, 24, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 18, 2022.
She was born on March 3, 1998, in McAllen, TX to Alberto and Sandra Gonzalez.
Abby graduated from Idea Quest College Prep in 2016, while attending UTRGV she worked at Idea Quest as a middle school girls' volleyball and basketball coach. Idea Quest was more than a High School, it was family. Abby graduated from UTRGV in 2020 with a degree in Civil Engineering. Following in her uncle Epi's footsteps she went to work for TX DOT. She worked in the San Antonio District as an E.I.T. with a bright future. Abby will be remembered by the countless friends she made through her life. Abby's greatest love was her family. She loved spending time with her family surrounded by food, having laughs, good conversations, and sharing in their company. She always ended her conversations with her family with "Te Quiero Mucho" and "I Love You." Abby will be remembered for her smile, big heart, and love for life.
Abigail is survived by her beloved parents, Alberto and Sandra Gonzalez; her brother, Alberto A. Gonzalez; grandparents, Agapito and Etelvina Gonzalez and Inocencio and Anita Rios; an uncle, Epigmenio (Liliana) Gonzalez; three aunts, Maria (Rigoberto) Gonzalez, Felipa (Rosbel) Solis, Yuri (Albert) Ramos; cousins, Rigoberto, Dagoberto, Joaquin, Alan, Alex, Ivanna, Miranda, Fabricio, Albert and Sofia.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. with a 6:30 p.m. rosary Thursday, December 22, 2022, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 12 noon Friday, December 23, 2022, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens in Mission.
