EDINBURG — Blasa P. Gonzalez, 83, died Friday, October 12, 2012, at her residence in Edinburg. Mrs. Gonzalez lived in Edinburg most of her life and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. She is preceded in death by her parents, Melquiades and Maria Pena; and one brother. Mrs. Gonzalez is survived by her husband Luciano Gonzalez of Edinburg; ten children, Alberto (Faith) Gonzalez of Maple Park, IL, Ricardo (Marcelina) Gonzalez, Daniel (Janie) Gonzalez, Luis Gonzalez, Rosa Maria (Alfredo) Cortez all of Edinburg, Elida Gonzalez of Pharr, Armando (Shirley) Gonzalez of West Chicago, IL, Elvira (Jose Calderon) Gonzalez of Floresville, TX, Sulema (Gus) Gonzalez of McAllen, and Melinda (Jaime Alviar) Gonzalez of Bolingbrook, IL; 23 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; one brother; three sisters. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary today, October 14, 2012, at Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Monday, October 15, 2012, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
