Catherine H. Gonzalez

CATHERINE H. GONZALEZ MCALLEN - Catherine H. Gonzalez, 90, passed on to eternal rest October 24, 2012, at McAllen Medical Center. Mrs. Gonzalez was born in Eagle Pass, TX on July 11, 1922. She is preceded in death by her husband, Eloy Gonzalez, Sr.; parents, Filiciana Castaneda Hobbs and Fred Hobbs; son, Oscar Gonzalez. Family members include: eight children, Eloy (Doris), Robert (Anita), Sylvia (+Alonzo) Garcia, Fred (Julia), Antonia (+Walter) Hutchings, Valeria (Modesto) Dominguez, Gloria (Joe) Tapia, Jessie; 22 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; sisters, Ida (+Bud) Breen, Betty (Rick) Williams, Selma (Nune) Mello, Joyce (+Don) Carta, and +Nancy (Jim) Jackson; brothers +Lowance, Fred (+Mary), +Shaddie (Gertude); and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial service will be from 5 to 8 p.m., with a 6 p.m. rosary Saturday, November 10, 2012, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. The family request that flowers not be sent as they will not have anywhere to put them after the memorial service. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
