CRISELDA P. GONZALEZ
EDINBURG - Criselda P. Gonzalez, 36, died Saturday, April 23, 2011, at Edinburg Regional Medical Center.
Criselda was born in Edinburg and had lived there most of her life. She was employed as a teacher by ECISD for 14 years and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg.
She is preceded in death by a son, Roberto Gonzalez.
Criselda is survived by her husband, Rolando J. Gonzalez; a son, Rolando J. Gonzalez, Jr., her mother, Alicia (Humberto) Serna, her father, Uvaldo Pequeno, Jr., all of Edinburg; three brothers, Wally Pequeno, of Tomball, Texas, Matthew Serna, of San Francisco, California, Richard Pequeno, of Alaska; three sisters, Julie Riefkohl, of Midland, Texas, Emily Serna, of Austin, Texas, Melanie Pequeno, of Amarillo, Texas; maternal grandparents, Santos and Diorica Maldonado; paternal grandparents, Uvaldo and Esperanza Pequeno, both of Edinburg; in-laws, Fermin Jr. and Maria Lucila Gonzalez; grandmother, Maria D. Ozuna, all of Rio Grande City, Texas; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 9 pm, with a 7 pm rosary today, April 24, 2011, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will be at 2 pm Monday, April 25, 2011, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Rio Grande City Cemetery.
Criselda was a loving daughter, dedicated mother, wife and friend who kindled many spirits by her love and her deeds that enriched many lives.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
