DOMITILA S. GONZALEZ
RIO GRANDE CITY – Domitila S. Gonzalez, 85, entered into eternal rest on Friday, May 6, 2022.
Born in Alice, Texas, she had lived in Rio Grande City most of her life and was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Rio Grande City. Domitila worked for many years with Rio Grande City C.I.S.D. and later with Community Action Council of South Texas. After retirement, she was an Auxiliary volunteer at Starr County Memorial Hospital and was a member of the Serra club.
She is preceded in death by her parents Jesus M. and Hortencia V. Salazar, her brother, Trinidad R. Salazar; her granddaughter, Jacqueline C. Gonzalez; and her former spouse, Pedro A. (P. A.) Gonzalez.
Domitila is survived by her six children, Pedro A. (Amelia) Gonzalez Jr. of Weslaco, Cynthia G. (Javier) Perez of Edinburg, P. Yvonne (Jaime) Perez of McAllen, Alejandro J. Gonzalez of Mission, Adelfa R. Gonzalez of San Antonio, Angelica C. (Carlos) Maldonado, of Waco; 15 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., with a 6 p.m. rosary Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 East Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Rio Grande City. Interment will follow at Rio Grande City County Cemetery.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
