Elva Balli Gonzalez

ELVA BALLI GONZALEZ PHARR - Elva Balli Gonzalez, 76, answered God's calling to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on October 29, 2012, at Odyssey House in San Antonio. Mrs. Gonzalez was born in Pharr , Texas where she lived all of her life. She is preceded in death by her husband, Arturo Gonzalez Sr. in May 2007; a son, Jose A. "Tony" Gonzalez in 1994; and by her parents, Jose Ma. Balli in 1963 and Margarita H. Balli in 1990. Mrs. Gonzalez is survived by a son, Arturo Jr. and fiancé, Margie Aleman, both of San Antonio, Texas; two brothers, Humberto (Lucy) Balli, Ruben Raul Balli, both of Pharr; several nephews and nieces; and three sisters-in-law. Mrs. Gonzalez was a lifelong member of La Trinidad United Methodist Church of Pharr where she served in several positions since she was 19 years old. She was also a member of United Methodist Women where she also served in several positions at the local and sub-district levels. She was employed by P-SJ-A Independent School District for 30 years as an attendance clerk at the high school. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. prayer service today, November 1, 2012, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, November 2, 2012, at La Trinidad United Methodist Church in Pharr with Rev. Nydia Irizarry Jara officiating. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to La Trinidad United Methodist Church, 105 E. Warren, Pharr, Texas 78577. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
