GUADALUPE "LUPITA" R. GONZALEZ
PHARR - Guadalupe "Lupita" R. Gonzalez, 91, died Saturday, March 21, 2009 at San Juan Nursing Home.
Born in Burgos, Tamps., Mexico, Mrs. Gonzalez had lived in Pharr most of her life and was a member of St. Margaret's Catholic Church in Pharr.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Juan "Yone" Gonzalez; her parents, Hilario and Carmen Rivera; three sisters, Margarita Molina, Josefa Garza, Nazarita Avila; and a brother, Manuel Rivera.
Mrs. Gonzalez is survived by a son, Oscar (Minerva) Gonzalez of Pharr; two grandchildren, Melissa Gonzalez and Johnny (Ivette) Gonzalez, both of McAllen; six great-grandchildren, Omar, Danielle, Victoria, Sebastian, Alek, Alan; and numerous nephews and nieces.
She was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother and grandmother. Mrs. Gonzalez was a wise person that had simple but strong principles to live a good life, to love, serve and be fair to all. Her whole life was dedicated to serving God, her church and her family. She will be greatly missed for her dedication, devotion and advice.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 pm with a 7 pm rosary, today, March 22, 2009 at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will be at 10 am, Monday, March 23, 2009 at St. Margaret's Catholic Church in Pharr. Interment will follow at Guadalupe Cemetery in Pharr.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
