JOSE ERASMO GONZALEZ SAN JUAN – Jose Erasmo Gonzalez, 63, died Monday, September 7, 2015, at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen. Born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, he had lived in San Juan most of his life and was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish. Mr. Gonzalez was a veteran of the United States Army and was employed by the Texas Department of Human Resources for 27 years until his retirement in May 2015. He is preceded in death by his parents, Maria Concepcion Vasquez and Alfredo B. Gonzalez. Mr. Gonzalez is survived by his wife of 41 years, Juana Gloria Gonzalez, of San Juan; six children, Jose E. (Jessica) Gonzalez Jr., of New York, Maria C. Gonzalez, of San Antonio, Alfredo B. (Celest) Gonzalez, of Harlingen, Zacarias Gonzalez, of Pharr, Roberto L. (Monica) Gonzalez, of Los Angeles, Ricardo Gonzalez, of Edinburg; and nine grandchildren, Jynel, Zacarie, Ostyn, Jynisse, Lauren, Jydin, Emma, Grayson and Ava. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Tuesday, September 8, 2015, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Wednesday, September 9, 2015, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at San Juan Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted by VFW Post 8788 of McAllen. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
