JOSE CONCEPCION “CHON” GONZALEZ PHARR— Jose Concepcion “Chon” Gonzalez, 86, entered into eternal rest surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, April 7, 2015, at Edinburg Regional Medical Center. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Maria Trinidad “Trine” Rodriguez; his mother, Maria De Jesus Trujillo; and a great-grandchild, Broly. Left to cherish his beautiful memory are his nine children, Alma Beatriz (Rogelio) Prado, Mary Gonzalez (+Ricardo) Herrera, both of San Juan, Maria Margarita (+Isabel) Flores of Denton, TX, Sylvia B. (Mickey) Elizondo, San Juanita “Janie” Gonzalez, both of Pharr, Concepcion (Lisa) Gonzalez, Jr., Sandra (Jesus Jr.) Huizar, both of Edinburg, Ruben (Lisa) Gonzalez of Alamo, and Jose Arnulfo “Arnold” Gonzalez of Pharr; 11 grandchildren, Jessica, Jennifer, Clarissa, John Eric, Sabrina, Joey, John Dylan, Sarah, Humberto, Ruben Jr., and Pricilla; 11 great-grandchildren, John Paul, Isiah, Joel, Samuel, Amado, Jr., Sydney, Dominic, Seph, Marius, Bulma, Logan; two brothers, Gabriel (Hilda) Gonzalez of Pharr and Jose (Blasa) Gonzalez of Reynosa; brother-in-law, Pedro Rodriguez of Pharr; two sisters-in-law, Yolanda (Ruben) Cortez of Reynosa, Blanca Almanza of McAllen; and dear friend, Edna “Lea” Killam of McAllen. Although we are experiencing a tremendous loss, we are happy and content that he has finally joined our mother in heaven whom he missed dearly and always remembered. We are left with beautiful memories of both our parents, and they will be missed by us and all those whose lives our parents touched. We wish to express our sincere thanks and appreciation to our many loving relatives and friends for all the acts of kindness and sympathy to our father. We would also like to give special thanks and appreciation to Edinburg Regional Medical Center staff and Senior Care and the following doctors to who we will forever be grateful; Dr. Jaime Hernandez, Dr. Omar Gomez, Dr. Juan Pablo Gomez, Dr. Jose Farias, and Dr. Lema. Our appreciation to various Parish prayers groups and to St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish parishioners who have been praying for our father and family. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Thursday, April 9, 2015, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Friday, April 10, 2015, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish in San Juan. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr. Pallbearers will be Concepcion Gonzalez, Jr., Ruben Gonzalez, Jose Arnulfo “Arnold” Gonzalez, Jose Arnulfo Briones, Amado Vera Jr., and John Eric Gonzalez. Honorary pallbearers, Rogelio Prado, Jesus Huizar, Mickey Elizondo, John Dylan Elizondo, John Paul Eureste, Amado Vera, Samuel Vera, Joel Vera. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
