JOSE "BIG JOE" GONZALEZ
EDINBURG - Jose "Big Joe" Gonzalez, 77, entered eternal rest Friday, November 12, 2021, at Edinburg Regional Medical Center.
Born in Austwell, Texas, Mr. Gonzalez lived in Edinburg and was a Vietnam veteran of the United States Army.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Aristeo and Juanita Gonzalez; and three brothers, Ruben Gonzalez, Jesus Gonzalez, and Rosendo Gonzalez.
Mr. Gonzalez is survived by his wife, Ernestina Gonzalez; two sons, Jose Jaime (Liz) Gonzalez of Edinburg, Ricardo (Evy) Gonzalez of Weslaco; six grandchildren; and four siblings, Dora Lemaire, Maria Cruz, Art Gonzalez, and Richard Gonzalez.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., with a 6 p.m. rosary Monday, November 15, 2021, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 East Canton in Edinburg. Cremation will take place at Memorial Cremation Center. Interment of cremated remains will take place at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
