Jose Concepcion "Conce" Gonzalez

JOSE CONCEPCION "CONCE" GONZALEZ
MCALLEN- Jose Concepcion “Conce” Gonzalez, 86, died Friday, February 10, 2017, at McAllen Heart Hospital.
Concepcion was born in McAllen and lived there all of his life.
Mr. Gonzalez served as a member of the Board of Trustees for La Piedad Cemetery. He was a teacher at McAllen ISD for 34 years and also served as a member of the Board of Trustees for the Teachers Federal Credit Union. Conce was also a Master Plumber. Concepcion served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Encarnacion Gonzalez and Antonia D. Gonzalez; two brothers, Antonio and Elpido Gonzalez; and two sisters, Maria Luisa Garcia and Isabel Vargas.
Mr. Gonzalez is survived by his wife, Maria De Jesus Gonzalez; two children, Carlos Guadalupe Gonzalez and Margaret Gonzalez Perez, all of McAllen; four grandchildren, Carlos Gonzalez, Margaret Michelle Gonzalez, Jose Concepcion Gonzalez and Anyssa Renee Perez; and a sister, Frances Gonzalez of McAllen.
Mr. Gonzalez was a wonderful husband and father. He will be dearly missed.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary Tuesday, February 14, 2017, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Wednesday, February 15, 2017, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in McAllen. Interment will follow at La Piedad cemetery in McAllen.
Military honors will be conducted by VFW Post 8788 of McAllen.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
