MARIA DE LEON GONZALEZ MONTE ALTO - Maria De Leon Gonzalez, 102, went to be with the Lord Thursday, March 7, 2013, at Edinburg Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born in Las Flores, Mexico, Mrs. Gonzalez had lived in Monte Alto most of her life. She is preceded in death by her husband, Agustin Gonzalez; a son, Agustin Gonzalez, Jr.; two grandchildren, Gilberto Gonzalez and Thelma Gonzalez; four sisters; and four brothers. Maria is survived by four children, Mario (Maria) Gonzalez, Sr. of Harlingen, Leticia (Anselmo) Gonzalez of Edcouch, Mario (Korene) Gonzalez, Jr. of Homedale, ID, Fabian Gonzalez of Fort Worth, TX; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 3 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary today, March 10, 2013, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Monday, March 11, 2013, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Elsa. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park in Weslaco. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
