MARIA B. GONZALEZ Photo 9:06 am Use Memorial logo McALLEN — Maria B. Gonzalez, 91, passed away Tuesday, February 23, 2016, surrounded by her family. Born in Jaumave, Tamaulipas, Mexico, she had lived in McAllen since 1956. Maria was a sweet, caring, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She had a very strong faith as a member of Jehovah’s Witnesses, she always found the positive in everything no matter how negative it was. Her charisma will be greatly missed by family and friends. Maria is preceded in death by her husband, Juan B. Gonzalez; a son, Enrique Gonzalez Sr.; a grandson, Joel Smith; a sister, Agustina Mireles; three brothers, Enrique, Mateo, and Marcelino Hernandez. Mrs. Gonzalez is survived by eight children, Alicia (Gregorio) Delgado, Jose (Lali) Gonzalez, Elena (Tony) de Luna, Blanca (Miguel) Garcia, Ezequiel (Blanca) Gonzalez, Rebecca Gonzalez, Gloria (Raul) Cepeda, all of McAllen, Bertha (Roger) Osborne of Booneville, AR.; daughter in law, Esperanza Gonzalez; 24 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; two siblings, Juan Hernandez, Eusebia Hernandez Ruiz, both of Victoria, Tamaulipas, Mexico; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. talk Thursday, February 25, 2016, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. Friday, February 26, 2016, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Valley Memorial Gardens in McAllen. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Gregorio Delgado Jr., Enrique Gonzalez Jr., Jose Gonzalez Jr., John Smith, Tony de Luna Jr., Miguel Garcia Jr., Ezequiel Gonzalez Jr., Juan Ricardo Urbina Jr., and Raul Cepeda III. Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
