EDINBURG – Ramona S. Gonzalez, 100, died Saturday, September 11, 2010, at The Village Care Center in McAllen.
Born in Kingsville, Texas, Mrs. Gonzalez had lived in Edinburg most of her life and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Joaquin Gonzalez Sr.; a son, Joaquin Gonzalez Jr.; a son-in-law, Ramon Ramos; and a daughter-in-law, Estella Gonzalez.
Mrs. Gonzalez is survived by four children, America (Patricio) Escamilla, of Mission, Gonzalo (Annie) Gonzalez, of McAllen, Arnoldo Gonzalez and Yolanda G. Ramos, both of Edinburg; a daughter-in-law, Sofia Gonzalez; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary today, September 13, 2010, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 14, 2010, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Edinburg.
