Rebecca "Rebequita" Gonzalez, 84, passed away Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at San Juan Nursing Home.
Rebequita is preceded in death by her parents, Salvador and Adelaida Salinas; a daughter, Sylvia Silva; and a sister, Dora "Dorthy" Salinas.
Mrs. Gonzalez is survived by her husband, Francisco S. Gonzalez; nine children, Francisco Gonzalez Jr., Sonia (Carlos) Escobar, Javier (Maribel) Gonzalez, Martha (Doug) Ray, Margarita (Michael) McBride, Cynthia Garza, Refugio Sanchez, Jaime (Nicole) Gonzalez, Joey (Bianca) Gonzalez; 16 siblings; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., with a 6 p.m. prayer service Sunday, May 21, 2023, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will take place at 12 noon Monday, May 22, 2023, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.
Pallbearers will be Jaime Gonzalez, Joey Gonzalez, Charles Escobar, Carlos "C.J." Escobar, Joshua Gonzalez, and Julian Gonzalez. Honorary pallbearer is Doug Ray.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
