EDINBURG – Rene Gonzalez, 31, died Saturday, February 18, 2012, in Louisiana.
Born in General Bravo, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, he resided in Edinburg for the last ten years. Rene was a superintendent for Safeway Scaffolding Services for many years.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents and maternal grandfather.
Mr. Gonzalez is survived by his wife, Aleida Gonzalez of Edinburg; three children, Alondra, Alaiza, Alexia, and future daughter Analy Gonzalez all of Edinburg; parents, Bernardo and Olga Gonzalez of San Juan; two brothers, Raul (Magda) Gonzalez of San Juan, Bernardo (Eva) Gonzalez Jr., of McAllen; four sisters, Ana (Reyes) Mendoza of San Juan, Adriana (Santiago) Vasquez of Corpus Christi, Adalia (Juan) Ortega, Aracely Gonzalez, both of San Juan; maternal grandmother, Micaela Gonzalez Garza of Monterrey, Nuevo Leon; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary today, February 23, 2012, at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, February 24, 2012, at St. Jude’s Catholic Church in Pharr. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan.
