DONNA - Rene Gorena, Jr., 46, was called home by his heavenly Father on January 18, 2010.
He was born March 5, 1963 to Rene and Irma Gorena. He was a 1982 graduate of Donna High School. Rene was a beloved father, son, brother, nephew and cousin. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Rene was known for his kind heart, great mind, abundant generosity and above all his mischievous sense of humor. He was truly our blessing.
Rene is survived by his father Rene (Carmen) Gorena of Pharr; his mother Irma Gorena of Alamo; his children Dr. Amanda Lee Gorena of Galveston, Texas, Rene Gorena III and Joshua James Gorena, their mother Rosie Gorena, all of Weslaco; his sisters Cindy (Edgar) Cordon of Edinburg and Maritza (Matthew) Garza of San Antonio, Texas; maternal grandmother, Carmen Gonzalez of Alamo; including numerous loving nieces and nephews.
We are grateful for the love and affection of our family and friends and extend a special thanks to the Flores family and Marbelia Torrez for all their support.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service, today, January 21, 2010 at Memorial Funeral Home in San Juan. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Friday, January 22, 2010 at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna.
Funeral services are under the direction of Memorial Funeral home in San Juan.
