ADAM WILSON GRAHAM
EDINBURG - Adam Wilson Graham, 41, died at his residence on Dec. 16, 2011.
Adam was born in Robstown on Sept. 26, 1970 to Oral and the late Marcella Graham. He served his country in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of Desert Storm. He earned many decorations, medals, badges and citations including the Southwest Asia Service Medal Bronze Service Star, National Defense Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Combat Infantryman Badge and three Marksman badges.
Known for his sense of humor and generous spirit, Adam was a great storyteller. He amused his family, friends and co-workers with stories from his rich life experiences. Adam traveled around the world working in a variety of occupations before discovering his true passion - nursing. At the time of his death, he was employed by Life Care Hospitals as a registered nurse. He also previously worked as a freelance sports reporter and food critic at The Monitor.
Adam was a caring and attentive husband, son and uncle. He always strived to make his loved ones happy, putting a lot of thought and effort into every gift and outing.
Adam experienced a spiritual awakening and became Catholic in recent years. He had a strong devotion to St. Jude.
Adam is survived by his wife, Cynthia, his father, Oral Graham, in-laws Marcelino and Dominga Ybarra, and several other family members including sisters-in-law Yvette (Ed) Zamorano, Yvonne and Rose Ybarra.
Visitation will be held today December 20, 2011 from 5 pm to 9 pm with rosary at 7 pm,
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 am at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1302 E. Champion St. in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery, 2520 S. Inspiration Rd. in Mission. Military honors will be conducted by American Legion Post 93 of Mission.
