ESEQUIEL GRANADO
EDINBURG – Esequiel Granado, 89, died Monday, September 12, 2016, at his residence in Edinburg.
Born in Baytown, TX, Mr. Granado had lived in Edinburg most of his life. He was a proud WWII veteran. Mr. Granado was an avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and was an extreme Houston Astros fan. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the love of his life.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Alvino and Sixta Granado; and two sisters, Rebecca Garcia and Noemi Frausto.
Mr. Granado is survived by his wife of 66 years, Adela Granado; three sons, Esequiel (Jane) Granado, Jr., Javier (Nora) Granado, Roberto (Pamela) Granado; three daughters, Belia Granado, Juanita Granado, Sonia (Javier) Badillo, all of Edinburg; seven grandchildren, Christina, David, Laura, Annie, Alyssa, Cynthia, Gabrianne; two great-grandchildren, Eric and Emily; and eight siblings, Anita, Ester, Sarita, Elizabeth, Lydia, Alvino, Ruben and Daniel. A special thank you to At Home Health Care, Allstate Hospice and his caregivers, Sylvia, Nery, Laura, Esther and Carlos.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., with a 7 p.m. rosary today, September 14, 2016, at Memorial Funeral Home, 208 E. Canton in Edinburg. Funeral service will take place at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, September 15, 2016, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission. Reception will follow at Memorial Event Center in Edinburg.
